Becky Lavalle to Race 2008 Zone Urban Epic

June 1, 2008 - It's the opportunity you've been waiting for...a chance to meet and race with an extraordinary athlete and inspiring human being. Tri-Maine is pleased to announce that Zone Labs' very own professional triathlete and National Champion Becky Lavelle has signed on to race alongside local athletes in the Zone Urban Epic on July 26 in Portland, ME.

Since her multisport career started in 1999, Lavelle has built a winning race resume, claiming titles in a number of the country's most prestigious events including Escape from Alcatraz, the Chicago Triathlon, the Wildflower Half Ironman, and Escape to Bermuda. Triathlete Magazine named her "Comeback Athlete of the Year" in 2005 after she won the USA National Championship, and in 2006, USA Triathlon (USAT) lauded her as the "Multisport Athlete of the Year."  Lavelle, who currently resides in California, will travel to Maine for the first time ever after finishing the New York City Triathlon. She will be in Portland for three days before the event and in addition to competing and experiencing Maine culture (through downtown dinners, rides along the coast, and lobstering with Catch a Piece of Maine) she will also be available to talk with athletes and fans.

Becky is excited to participate in the Zone-sponsored event. Over the past year, she has seen her commitment to the Zone Lifestyle and training products bring increased success, and having become an ardent supporter of Zone Labs, she's looking forward to racing as a Zonesponsored athlete in the ZUE. (Read about Becky's success in the Zone - and what products she uses - online at zonecompete.com)  Go to urban-epic.com now to sign up for the ZUE now before it's too late! Great events (and racers) like this one only come along once in a while and it will fill up.  Also, go to www.beckylavelle.com to read more about Becky and Jenny's Light - a foundation Lavelle created in honor of her sister to help support women and families dealing with postpartum illnesses
